Lace lace baby

posted on: Sunday, 23 November 2014

Now you all know me and my relationship with dresses, we're not the best of friends to say the least. However as I was scouring through the Urban Outfitters party wear page, my eyes were immediately drawn to this lace dress by Free People and I just needed it on my rail and with the flurry of Christmas and general parties that have popped up, I need options.

Being that I'm more of an, "lets eat out" rather than a "turnt up" kinda chick, I would throw an oversized knit on this dress just to add that more effortless day-night look, also guys it's freezing outside, I need warmth. Not to mention, the dipped lace detailing at the bottom of the dress is gorgeous and it would be a waste not to showcase that!
The dress in this post sold out just after I purchased it, so I've linked some similar pieces for you guys!

To celebrate the festive party season, Urban Outfitters are running a grand competition. Upload your snaps of what you and your friends would wear on a night out with the hashtag #UONIGHTOWLS and tag @uoeurope and you could win a customised party pack and £250 to spend at UO! Ka-Ching!?

Now go and get snapping, I want to see those party outfits!

Backpacks are back(pack)

posted on: Sunday, 26 October 2014

"I'm bringing backpacks back.. (yuup)". Sorry, breaking into a little JT there! I was sent this Grafea backpack recently, I still remember my love for backpacks when I was in college. It was so much easier to carry around all my junk and not cause damage to my arm… oh how things have changed. It had me feeling a little nostalgic, and I was so excited to take this for a spin because I always stuff my handbags with more than I can handle. Before I begin rambling about pretty pointless things… I want to take a moment out to appreciate the quality of the backpack. It's super sturdy and the leather is ahhhhmazing. Seriously premium quality and I feel secure and confident that it won't fall apart with whatever I throw in there. It scares me that it is white… and well, I'm me and let's just say… there's a reason I wear a lot of dark colours (I am the slob in the family). I'm going to try my absolute hardest to take care of this baby.

I've also been seriously loving a bit of grey on grey action recently… what are your thoughts? Yes/No?

I have been wanting to step out of my comfort zone of nude makeup and muted colours for a while, and it's taken me a while to get here. I decided to be a lil' brave yesterday and just go for it, the full shebang - bold makeup, colour AND a dress. Why take baby steps? (haha). I honestly felt completely uncomfortable at first, and had to keep getting re-assured that I didn't look like I was about to go to a halloween party, and not a pre-wedding dinner. After glaring at myself in the mirror, and a load of "you look fine"'s later, this look began to grow on me. Sometimes it's good to step out of that comfortable rut that you've built for yourself and just try something new. Regardless of comments, or whether someone will say something negative… Trying new things leads to discovering new things, discovering your style, your persona, likes/dislikes. Cliche as it sounds, life is too short to over think whether or not you look "weird" (whatever defines weird). As long as you like it, rock it till your hair falls off. (what?)

Hey all! I don't know about you, but I'm seriously loving all the camel coats I'm seeing. There's something about camel coats that screams chic, even if you wear it with sneaks (gotta do it). I purchased this Missguided beauty a while ago, and was actually very pleasantly surprised at the quality of it and the not so "camel-y"(what?)  colour, you know I like it muted! It's no Max Mara (I will own you), but it's still perfect for me!

Also, sick of these shoes yet? I can't get them off my feet!

Have a great weekend loves
